Privacy and view counts

When you open an article here, the server adds one to that article's view count for the day. It also keeps your country, the website that linked you here, and a scrambled fingerprint used only to tell whether you already visited that article today. The fingerprint is made with a key that is thrown away at the end of each day, so it cannot follow you from one day to the next.

View counting does not store your IP address. No cookie is set to count you, and nothing is added to the articles themselves. Only the publisher can see the counts.

Your visits on this site are counted in this browser.
